NBA icon Charles Barkley recently voiced his disdain for former President Donald Trump’s remarks regarding his purported increased popularity among Black voters. During a segment on his CNN show “King Charles” with co-host Gayle King, Barkley expressed his outrage over Trump’s comments suggesting that Black voters favored him due to feeling similarly persecuted.
Trump’s remarks, made at an event in South Carolina, insinuated a connection between his legal troubles and the historical struggles of Black Americans. Barkley vehemently opposed this comparison, stating, “If I see a Black person walking around with a Trump mug shot, I’m gonna punch him in the face.” He further added that he would “bail myself out and go celebrate” after such an act.

Johnson expressed outrage but admitted that he was not surprised by Trump’s comments, while Harris criticized Trump’s audacity to address Black voters given his track record on racial issues.
Barkley’s forceful condemnation highlights the continued polarization surrounding Trump’s legacy and underscores the deep-seated divisions within American society. As discussions on race and politics persist, Barkley’s stance serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against racism and discrimination in the United States.
