Shopping for a new bag this season? Go long!
And no, we’re (obviously) not talking football terms over here 😅 I recently went into the Alaia store in NYC to get my hands on a bag I’ve had my eye on: the Teckel. And just like that, I noticed a trend popping up all over my social media and shopping feeds!
The elongated, rectangular, “east-west” or “baguette” bag silhouette is fashion’s hottest ticket item right now, and so many brands came out with their own version of this bag shape in recent weeks and months: from Bottega Veneta’s east-west Arco and Andiamo bags, to Christian Dior’s Lady D-Joy — even Hermès is throwing their hat in the ring with the viral Shoulder Birkin that reappeared on the runway during Paris Fashion Week.

There’s something so chic and elegant about a simple but elongated rectangle handbag. It’s perfect for a no-fuss look, and appropriate for every occasion from day to night. And the shape, combined with the minimal but luxurious leather? Darling, you’ll look like money! Check out my edit of the best east-west baguette bags of the season.
What do you think of the best east-west baguette bag silhouette? Will you be giving it a try?
