Carowinds announced a new music festival series set to happen this summer.
The two-state theme park shared plans for a multi-weekend music festival called Carowinds Summer Music Fest. The festival will feature local bands and “emerging artists” at various places throughout the park, as well as the park’s amphitheater, The Paladium, where iconic artists like Mary J. Blige, Billy Joel and Bob Dylan.”
“As the ultimate destination for fun in the Carolinas, we’re gearing up for an exhilarating summer of music and thrills with the all-new Carowinds Summer Music Fest amplified by Coke Studio,” Manny Gonzalez, Carowinds vice president and general manager, said. “Get ready for 10 days of sensational performances that will make Carowinds the place to be this summer. What’s more, these incredible shows are free with your park admission, guaranteeing a summer filled with entertainment and iconic thrills.”
According to a press release sent Wednesday, this summer’s festival lineup includes Flo Rida, LeAnn Rimes and more than 30 other artists over 10 dates.
The Carowinds Paladium is a standalone concert venue at the park, but access to the summer music series is included with park admission.
The iconic on-site amphitheater will come alive to host the series of concerts on five select weekends. The venue will again be the heart of entertainment at the park.
