What does Black Mental Wellness mean to you?

Black mental wellness, in my opinion, involves nurturing an environment that encourages self-love as a crucial component of overall mental well-being. It means creating a therapeutic and coaching space where individuals can feel empowered to embrace and appreciate themselves, recognizing the unique value of their identities. This includes celebrating the strength and resilience which is inherent in the Black community. Self-love becomes a powerful tool for navigating societal pressures and cultivating emotional resilience. Fostering a sense of belonging, self-compassion, and personal growth, with the understanding that embracing one’s identity and practicing self-love are essential components of Black mental wellness.

How do you promote change and well-being in the Black community?

In my journey as a dating coach within the Black community, my mission is all about nurturing positive change and well-being. I’m dedicated to creating a safe space that feels like a warm embrace—one where individuals can explore dating with genuine confidence and a true sense of self. Conversations about mental health, relationships, and personal growth aren’t just encouraged; they’re celebrated. I aim to break down stereotypes and societal pressures, helping my clients embrace love while prioritizing their own well-being.

What are some upcoming events you are leading, that promote mental health and wellness, that you would like for our Black Mental Wellness audience to know about?

How can we encourage more people to seek mental health treatment?

Encouraging more people to seek mental health treatment is all about creating an atmosphere of understanding, empathy, and support. It begins with fostering open conversations that destigmatize seeking help for emotional well-being. Let’s prioritize sharing personal stories that highlight the strength in seeking support, emphasizing that it’s a courageous step toward self-care.

How do you make time for your own wellness and self-care?

I treat my well-being with the same compassion and dedication I offer to others. Recognizing that self-care is not selfish but a foundation for being present and effective in all areas of life, I strive to weave it throughout my daily routine. It’s an ongoing journey of self-discovery and nurturing, one that I approach with kindness and a deep appreciation for the importance of personal wellness.

Natasha Crosby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker turned Dating Coach. She is passionate about empowering women to date confidently and attract quality partners. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies from Denison University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.

She is the founder of Crosby Counseling & Services and Coaching with Natasha. As a licensed and practicing therapist, I have spent ten years listening to the stories of countless women having difficulty in their dating journey during therapy sessions. That’s when I started to observe a recurring theme: women were looking for clear direction with actionable solutions. I realized that with my professional background mixed with my own personal experiences, I could be the missing link between someone’s frustrating dating life and a satisfying relationship. My unique approach stems from the understanding that love is not just an emotion; it’s a journey of self-discovery and emotional healing & wellbeing. I use a blend of therapeutic insights and clear strategy and steps to empower you to rewrite your love story.

When she’s not empowering others to live their best & authentic self, Natasha can be found in Houston, Texas spending time with friends, traveling, dining out, or binge-watching crime documentaries.
