After months of legal back and forth, shocking updates and more, the messy divorce between rapper Jeezy and Jeannie Mai may finally be over.
As previously reported by The Root, the couple have been entangled in drama for months following Jeezy’s surprise announcement of their split back in September 2023. In May of this year, we found out that Jeannie allegedly wanted to have another child with Jeezy via in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment after he told her his plans to file for divorce in June 2023. His lawyers made the case that in response of Jeezy declining her request, Jeannie accused him of physical and verbal abuse on several instances and child neglect.
Prior to that, we told you about how Jeezy had filed for primary custody of their two-year-old Monaco, citing his belief that the child “would have more stability” under his roof. He later walked that back and amended his request for both he and Jeannie to have equal custody. And before that, Jeezy alleged that Jeannie was “gatekeeping” their child, which prompted her to clap back against those claims and allege that she had concerns for “reasonable safety” stemming from allegedly unsafely stored guns (presumably owned by Jeezy) that were around while the toddler was present.
Now, it seems like the two have finally reached some sort of an agreement, as legal documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight reveal they’ve decided on an undisclosed settlement. Details including exact child support and permanent parenting plan order are being kept under seal as agreed to by both parties, citing that “the harm resulting to the privacy of the parties and their child, if the documents were made public, clearly outweighs public interest in these specific documents.”
A Georgia Fulton County judge also ordered that the former couple cannot “disseminate, distribute, post, nor cause the dissemination, distribution of posting of the Settlement Agreement or Child Support Worksheet to any person or in any manner, including but no limited to any form of media, social media, or the internet.”
With the two parties coming to an agreement, hopefully they can move onto a more peaceful relationship.
