What up BBFG Fam! You all know that we stand on business but we also stand on fitness! As the countdown to summer begins, the quest for the perfect “summer body” ignites a surge of motivation within the FitFam & BBFG community. In the BBFG, members start looking for fitness coaches and trainers to help them start their fitness journeys. With less than 100 days until summer arrives, individuals are eager to kickstart their fitness journey and embrace a lifestyle of health and vitality. Recently, one of my good friends Dushune Lewis, a top notch Master Barber and owner of Headliners Barber Shop out of Houston, TX challenged me and a group of friends to do pushups on a daily basis. So far I’m hooked but I needed to know more about how to get “summer ready”.
Seeking guidance from esteemed fitness experts, I posed the question:
“Hey FitFam! Happy Saturday! I’m reaching out as I’m writing a blog about fitness and getting ready for summer. We have less than 100 days until summer begins and folks want to get started on their ‘summer body.’ I need a quote from each of you representing your respective fitness programs sharing what folks can do to get ‘summer ready.’
Here are the empowering responses from two prominent figures in the fitness industry:
From Shanay Alexis, the visionary behind Balanced Body Fitness: “Focus on establishing a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrients, aiming to eat more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Incorporate regular physical activity to build endurance and strength. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, which supports metabolism and helps you feel full. Lastly, set realistic goals and be patient with yourself, understanding that progress takes time and consistency is key to seeing results.” – Balanced Body Fitness
And from Toni Lewis-Noble aka T-Class, the driving force behind TruFaithFitness and Nutrition: “Consistency is the key. You don’t have to be extreme. But you do have to be consistent. Find a variety of exercises that you enjoy. People often ask me what is the most effective exercise. I always say the one you enjoy enough to do over and over.” – Tru Faith Fitness and Nutrition
In the journey towards summer readiness, the wisdom shared by Shanay Alexis and Toni Lewis-Noble serves as guiding beacons, illuminating the path towards holistic health and wellness. Let their words inspire and motivate you as you embark on your own fitness journey, seizing the opportunity to cultivate strength, vitality, and joy every step of the way. And get you some lifelong friends like Dushune Lewis to keep pushing you to be your best self!
